This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer.
As a Contract Specialist, you will serve as a senior level contract specialist for major acquisitions supporting a branch within the BEP's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer.
Duties As a Contract Specialist, you will:
Represent the organization in negotiations with leaders, both within and outside the Department of Treasury and Government in general and interact with representatives at the highest levels.
Perform the full range of pre-award and post-award acquisition activities and work jointly with a multitude of personnel (e.
g.
Program, Office of Financial Management, Office of General Counsel, etc.
) as well as provide expert leadership to the Acquisition Team.
Issue large-scale, complex solicitations, provide expert leadership to evaluation teams, lead the contract negotiation team, and ensure the sward of contracts of the highest quality and legal sufficiency.
Coordinate and control contract administration activities, interpret contract provisions, ensure consistency in contract administration, advise the organization on resolution of conflicts, on needs for contract modifications, and implement lessons learned to improve contract administration.
Develop contract modifications, negotiate changes, exercise contract options, investigate and resolve contact delays, perform contractor performance assessments, resolve claims and terminate contracts for the convenience of the government or for default by the contractor.

Employment is contingent upon one's ability to maintain an active FAC-C Level II, FAC-C (Professional), or DAWIA (Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) certification.
